A woman has died following a crash between a car and a lorry near Dunbar.
Emergency services were called to the A199 near the Tynefield junction around 2.35pm on Wednesday following a crash involving a red Ford Fiesta and a blue Mercedes lorry.
A 62-year-old woman, the driver of the Fiesta, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.
The road was closed for investigations and reopened around 9.15pm.
Police are now appealing for anyone who was travelling in the area at the time of the incident to get in touch.
Sergeant Mike Thomson said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash, and I would ask anyone who witnessed what happened, or who was travelling in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage, to contact us.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1748 of April 1, 2026.
