Witness appeal after driver killed in one-vehicle crash

A 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision in Fife.

A driver has died following a crash in Fife on Thursday night.

The 23-year-old man was driving a silver Hinda Civic when the collision took place between the Bankhead and Redhouse roundabout on the A92 between Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy.

Emergency services attended at around 11.35pm and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved.

Police closed the road in both directions for around seven hours as investigations were carried out.

Sergeant Ewan Pearce said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of the man who sadly lost his life in this tragic incident.

“I am asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or the vehicle prior to the crash, to contact us if you have not already done so.

“We are also asking anyone in the area at the time to review their dashcam footage for anything relevant that could assist with our investigation.

“Inquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward, by contacting officers on 101.”
