Police probing thefts of BMW cars as linked after two stolen in one hour

Police have launched a probe into a thefts of two BMWs in West Lothian now thought to be linked.

Officers believe the thefts a white series four model of the car, stolen from Steels Road in Broxburn at around 3pm on Friday and a grey X5 taken from Birkdale Park in Armadale just over an hour later, were perpetrated by the same group.

Four men were seen in a blue Seat Leon in the area at the time of both incidents, according to eyewitnesses.

The X5 was later recovered near to where it was stolen, however the series four, which has the registration plate KA54 MMR, remains missing.

Investigators have appealed for anyone with information to come forward and share it with officers.

Detective constable Rachel Royan said: “I would urge anyone with information on either of these incidents or the vehicles mentioned to get in touch with us.”

DC Royan added: “Similarly, anyone with dash cam or private CCTV footage of Broxburn or Armadale around that time yesterday afternoon, please review it and bring anything of significance to our attention.”
