A Labrador was left stuck on a rock and “incredibly scared” beneath a jetty after falling from a sea wall in East Lothian.
Callie, the Red Fox Labrador, fell three metres into the water near the former Cockenzie Power Station, just before 3pm on Friday.
The volunteer lifeboat crew from RNLI Kinghorn were called out and found the pooch stranded on a rock underneath the jetty.
“Once on scene, the lifeboat crew had to carefully manoeuvre the boat below the jetty, requiring precision boat handling,” a spokesperson said.
“Callie was incredibly scared and nervous but was soon pulled to safety onboard the Atlantic 85 lifeboat with the crew.”
Despite her fall, Callie only had an injured paw and was safely reunited with her worried owner at Cockenzie Harbour, alongside Fisherrow Coastguard.
The rescue came just two hours after the crew were called out to Gypsy Brae, Granton, where another dog needed help after falling from the sea wall.
The local fire service was able to save the pet and the lifeboat was stood down.
