Visitors have been forced to evacuate after a blaze broke out at Fife Zoo.
Fire crews were called to the site at Collessie shortly after midday on Sunday.
Photos on social media showed plumes of smoke billowing from the site.
Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were dispatched to the zoo, which houses more than 45 animals from around 15 species including meerkats, lemurs and armadillos.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.32pm on Sunday to reports of a building fire at Birniefield, Collessie, in Fife.
“Operations control mobilised four appliances to the scene where a fire was affecting a barn, a caravan and a car.
“There are no reported casualties at this time, crews remain in attendance.”
In an update to visitors at 2pm today, the zoo said: “Unfortunately due to an incident on site, we will be closed for the rest of the day.”
STV News reported how a similar blaze broke out at the zoo in July 2020.
One person was treated for smoke inhalation and the zoo’s owners later posted on Facebook saying everyone was safe.
