Vandals cause £20,000 of damage to wind turbine transporter tyres

Around 20 tyres were damaged after a transporter carrying a wind turbine was left in a layby near Selkirk.

Vandals have caused £20,000 of damage to a vehicle carrying a wind turbine through the Scottish Borders.

Police said around 20 tyres had been damaged to the transporter between Sunday, November 12 and Tuesday, November 14.

The vehicle was targeted while it was parked in a layby just off the A7 south of Selkirk.

It is estimated that around £20,000 worth of damage was caused to the transporter.

Police are now following a line of enquiry involving a white van.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 0576 of November 14, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
