A police helicopter was called in to hunt down two suspects who ran from officers after a vehicle chase in Polmont.

Officers from Police Scotland’s Air Unit used thermal imaging to assist colleagues from the Road Policing division after a “lengthy” vehicle chase on Thursday evening.

Police said two suspects attempted to run from the vehicle, but were both captured and detained just after midnight.

A Police Scotland statement read: “The police helicopter was up again yesterday evening, this time assisting Road Policing division colleagues in the Polmont area, with another lengthy vehicle pursuit.

“Two people attempted to run from the vehicle, but were both captured and detained.”

Earlier on Thursday, the Air Unit was called in to aid in the hunt for another driver who led officers in a car chase in Glasgow.
