Two suspects have appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a man was attacked in an alleged gang-linked slashing in East Lothian.
Emergency services were called to Drummohr Avenue in Musselburgh at around 11.15pm on Monday following reports of a bladed weapon attack.
A 31-year-old man, believed to have been slashed, was taken to hospital.
Two men, aged 38 and 43, have now been charged in connection with the incident and appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Dale Martin, 38, of Hamilton and Stuart McKechnie, 43, of Glasgow, were both charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed weapon.
Martin was also charged with numerous driving offences, including dangerous driving and driving without a licence or insurance.
Both made no plea and were remanded in custody. They will both appear before the court again within eight days.
Police have urged any witnesses with further information about the attack to come forward.
Detective inspector Jordan Sharp said: “Enquiries remain ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us.
“We’d also ask anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage that could assist our enquiries to come forward.”
