Two more men have appeared in court charged with attempted murder following a “gang attack” in Edinburgh.
A 38-year-old man was allegedly attacked by a gang of four men in the Calder Gardens area of the city on April 2.
He was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Four men were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
On Tuesday, Dwayne Johnstone, 48, of Edinburgh, and Thomas Young, 32, also from the capital, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court charged with assault to severe injury, per disfigurement, danger to life and attempted murder.
Both men made no plea and were committed for further examination. They are both due to appear in court again within eight days.
It comes a week after two other men, Lee Lacey, of Edinburgh, and Ciaran Brennan, of Dublin, appeared in court charged with attempted murder and possession of weapons.
Both men made no plea.
Lacey was committed for further examination and granted bail, while Brennan was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
Brennan will next appear in court within eight days, while Lacey’s next appearance is yet to be determined.
