Two men from England have appeared in court charged with a “frost-jacking” spree in Fife.

Three cars were stolen within a 50-minute window while left defrosting outside properties in Glenrothes, Kinghorn and Kirkcaldy on November 21.

All three vehicles were later recovered.

Charlie Johnson, 29, from Solihull, and Daniel Toms, 34, from Birmingham, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on November 24, charged with two attempted housebreakings with intent to steal and three car thefts.

Both men made no plea and were remanded in custody. They are due to appear before the court within the next eight days.

The first incident involved the theft of an Audi A3 in Glenrothes around 7.55am, which was later traced in Kirkcaldy. The second incident involved a black Hyundai i40 in Kinghorn, Burntisland, which was reported stolen around 8.40am.

A blue BMW X3 was then stolen from Abbots Walk, Kirkcaldy, at around 8.50am and traced nearby a short time later.
