Two men were airlifted to safety by a search and rescue helicopter after getting “stuck on a cliff” in North Berwick.

HM Coastguard confirmed it scrambled its search and rescue helicopter from Prestwick to aid two men stuck at North Berwick Law.

Crews from North Berwick, Dunbar and Fisherrow were alerted to the incident after 8.35pm on Monday, October 7.

Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also attended the rescue mission.

An HM Coastguard spokesperson said: “Our search and rescue helicopter from Prestwick lifted to safety two males reported to be stuck on cliffs at North Berwick Law.

“The alarm was raised at about 8.35pm on October 7.

“Coastguard Rescue Teams from North Berwick, Dunbar and Fisherrow attended, as well as Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.”
