Three police officers were taken to hospital after two marked police vehicles, a van and a car were involved in a crash in Edinburgh.
Emergency services were called to the incident in Broughton Street in Edinburgh city centre at around 6am on Friday.
Police said three officers were taken to hospital for assessment, but their injuries are not believed to be serious.
Road closures were in place from East London Street, Albany Street, Forth Street and York Place.
Police said investigations into the crash to establish the full circumstances are continuing.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We dispatched two ambulances, two special operations response teams, and a rapid resuscitation response unit to the scene.
“Three patients were transported to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”
