Two drivers have died in a crash involving two cars in the Scottish Borders.
Emergency services were called to the collision around 6.50pm on Wednesday on the A6089, Edinburgh Road, near the junction with the B6364.
The crash involved a metallic green Ford Fiesta and a silver Nissan Leaf.
Emergency services attended, but both drivers, two men aged 35 and 42, were pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
The road was closed to allow for investigations to take place and re-opened around 1.30am on Thursday, April 9.
Sergeant Jamie Humpage said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of both the men at this extremely difficult time, and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this collision.
“I am appealing to anyone who was driving in the area at the time or saw either vehicle prior to the crash to please come forward and speak with officers.
“I’d also ask that those with dash-cam footage or CCTV please review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”
