Two men were seen in the area with a blue van and police have urged any witnesses to come forward.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after two cars were set on fire in Bathgate.

Fire crews from Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were sent to extinguish the fires which occurred on Meadowpark Avenue.

Both vehicles were left badly damaged after the fires were set around 10.05pm on Sunday, November 27.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for witnesses.

Detective Constable Kenny Alexander said: “Fortunately no one was injured in this incident, however both vehicles were extensively damaged.

“Our enquiries have established that two persons, both dressed in dark clothing, attended the area in a small blue van. They were last seen running west along Meadowpark Avenue after the fire started.  

“I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or who has CCTV footage of the suspects or the blue van to get in touch.

“If you have any information please call 101, quoting incident number 3499 of November 27, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
