Tributes to aesthetician who died after being found 'seriously injured' in Edinburgh home

Tributes have been paid to an aesthetician who died after being found with serious injuries at a house in Edinburgh.

Emergency services were called to Craigievar Square at around 8.45pm on Monday, following reports of a disturbance.

Vikki Soloman was found with serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland confirmed on Tuesday that a 46-year-old man had been charged in connection with the death. He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday.

The 44-year-old was the owner of an aesthetics business and recently gave evidence to parliament about the regulation of the independent aesthetics industry.

Ms Soloman described herself as a single parent of a disabled child who also had a disability herself. Floral tributes have been left outside her home.

Alex-Cole Hamilton, leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats, said: “The heartbreaking news of the death of Vikki Soloman in East Craigs last night is a profound shock to our community, and to me personally.

“I worked closely with Vikki as new laws governing the beauty and aesthetics sector passed through Parliament in March. She was a proud ambassador for her industry and taught me so much about her line of work.

“She loved what she did, and I enjoyed her effervescent charm every time we met.

“The police must now be allowed to do their job and provide much-needed answers, but this is a shocking incident, and it will cast a long shadow over our community.

“My thoughts are with her children and those who loved her at this awful time.”

Family and friends said on social media: “I can’t believe I’m writing this… my darling Vikki Soloman, my absolutely gorgeous best friend. I can’t get my head around this.

“You were the kindest human, the laughs and memories I will cherish forever, and I will miss you so much until we meet again.”
