Tributes paid to 'amazing woman' after body found by police on beach

A body was found on Thursday during the search for Fiona Thomson, 60, who was reported missing on Monday.

Devastated friends and family have paid tribute to “amazing woman” Fiona Thomson after a body was found by police on an East Lothian beach.

The 60-year-old was reported missing from the Dalgety Bay area of Fife on Monday.

Police confirmed a body was discovered on a beach in Gullane on Thursday at around 7.50am.

Formal identification is still to take place however the family of Ms Thomson have been informed.

Tributes have poured in across social media from devastated friends, colleagues and family.

A local hairdressers, Kharma Hair salon, said: “It’s not the outcome we prayed for but we are devastated to announce our beautiful friend and client Fiona Thomson who went missing has sadly passed away. We are all so sad.

“Our thoughts are with Fiona’s family and friends.”

Colleague Rachel Suttie said: “RIP Fiona. Absolutely awful news… an amazing woman who had not long joined our work team. xx”

Kirsty Drysdale added: “The outcome we all didn’t want for this lady, been thinking about her since I first saw the missing post… what a bloody sin, a shame, my heart goes out to her family and friends”
