The UK’s oldest woman veteran from the Second World War has died aged 108.
Anne Robson, from Duns in the Scottish Borders, volunteered for the Auxiliary Territorial Service between 1939 and 1945.
She quickly rose to the rank of senior commander and remained in service for two years after the war ended.
Anne, who was born in 1911, celebrated her 108th birthday in September.
The Women’s Royal Army Corps said: “It is with great sadness that the Association reports the passing of our eldest surviving ATS lady, Anne Robson, who celebrated her 108th birthday in September.”
