Train services were suspended in Edinburgh as emergency services attended an incident near Waverley station.

All trains to and from the station were called off for around an hour on Sunday afternoon.

Services have since been reinstated but ScotRail have warned passengers to expect ongoing disruption.

The incident took place near Edinburgh Waverley at around 3.15pm.

At 4.20pm ScotRail posted on their social media pages that the issue had been resolved.

The operator tweeted: “The emergency services have resolved the incident, and power has been restored to the overhead lines.

“We are now able to run trains but units and crews are out of position so some ongoing disruption is expected.”
