Three people rescued from cars after crash near safari park injures ten

Three people were trapped in their cars after a collision near Blair Drummond Safari Park in Stirling.

A large emergency response was called to the two-car crash at Cuthill Brae, at the Blair Drummond Smiddy Farm Shop, at 4.39pm on Saturday.

Two crews from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service rescued two casualties who were trapped inside one of the vehicles, while another person was freed.

All three patients were then transferred to Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

Seven people were treated and then discharged at the scene of the crash by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 4.39pm on Saturday, August 16, to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A873 just after the school on Cuthill Brae, Blair Drummond Smiddy Farm Shop in Stirling.

“Operations Control immediately mobilised two appliances to the scene and on arrival firefighters found three casualties trapped within both cars.

“Firefighters extricated two casualties from one vehicle who were passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Firefighters left the scene at 5.37pm after ensuring the area was made safe.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We transported three patients to Forth Valley Royal Hospital while a further seven patients were treated and discharged at the scene.”
