Three men have been taken to hospital after a Mercedes car crashed on the M9 near Stirling.

The motorway remained closed for more than seven hours after the incident on the northbound carriageway at around 5.10am on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision involving the silver Mercedes C-Class near Junction 10 Craigforth Interchange and the route was shut up to Junction 11 Keir Roundabout.

The conditions of the men are currently unknown.

Sergeant David Marr said: “Enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who saw the silver Mercedes saloon car on the motorway before the crash took place to contact us.

“I would also be keen to obtain any dashcam from drivers on this area of road around the time of the crash on Sunday morning.

“Anyone with information that may assist is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 0741 of January 22.”
