Three people have been charged with terrorism offences over a planned protest in Edinburgh.

Two women and a man were arrested over plans to hold a protest at Queen Elizabeth House in the capital last week.

The trio have now been charged under the Terrorism Act.

Police confirmed the charges on Tuesday.

A statement from the force said: “Two women and a man have been charged in connection with offences under the Terrorism Act, following a planned protest at Queen Elizabeth House in Edinburgh on Tuesday, November 18.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
