A third person has been charged after a dog was found dead and another “seriously injured” after a disturbance involving a group in Edinburgh.
Police were called to the Calder Park area of Edinburgh at around 4.30pm on May 31, with one Alsatian dog discovered dead at the scene.
Another Alsatian was taken to a vet for treatment after being found with serious injuries.
Officers confirmed that a 36-year-old man had been arrested and charged following the incident.
He is due to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
A 37-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were previously charged in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a disturbance involving a group of men in the Calder Park area of Edinburgh on Friday, 31 May, 2024.
“Officers were called to the scene around 4.30pm and found one dog dead and another seriously injured.
“The 36-year-old man is due to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 5 June, 2024.
“A 37-year-old man was previously arrested and charged in connection and was due to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, 3 June, 2024.
“A 39-year-old woman was also charged in connection with a breach of the beach offence and will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.”
