The Fratellis have pulled out of performing at the Kelpies Live due to a dispute with the event’s promoters.

The Scottish rock band were due to perform on September 4, as part of a series of music concerts held on the lawn of the Helix Park.

Just days before the gig, the band have taken to social media to confirm that they will not be appearing on the bill.

Their statement explained: “It is with regret that The Fratellis forthcoming performance at Helix Park, Falkirk on Friday September 4 has now been cancelled.

“Unfortunately, the promoters have been unable to fulfil their commitments to the band to perform and they have had to therefore take the decision not to appear at the event.”

The one-off gig would have coincided with the 20th anniversary of the band’s debut album Costello Music, which spawned huge hits like Chelsea Dagger.

Kelpies Live was started last year and was led by Scottish Canals to mark the tenth anniversary of the Kelpies statues.

Kelpies Live organisers xfire.live have been contacted for comment.
