Teenager stabbed in leg before hobbling to shop for help

The 18-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment after being stabbed on Monday.

A teenager has been stabbed on a busy Edinburgh street.

The 18-year-old was on Westfield Court when the attack took place at around 5pm on Monday.

He then hobbled to a shop on Gorgie Road with a stab wound on his leg.

Emergency services were called and he was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police said there was no description of the suspect as they appealed for information.

Detective sergeant Rory Legge, of Corstorphine CID, said: “This happened at a busy time of the day and we know there would’ve been a lot of traffic and people in the area.

“I would ask anyone who witnessed this incident or saw any suspicious behaviour around the Westfield Court area just before 5pm on Monday to contact us.”
