A teenager has been taken to hospital after falling from scaffolding in Fife.
Emergency services were called to Park View in Kirkcaldy at around 11.30am on Tuesday.
STV News understands that a part of the scaffolding erected around the block of flats hit a 16-year-old male and he then fell. It is unclear how far he fell.
The Scottish Ambulance Service attended and the boy was taken to hospital for treatment.
The Health and Safety Executive has been contacted for comment.
Refurbishment contractor AC Whyte is carrying out works at Park View. In a statement the company said it was aware of the incident.
“Our thoughts are with the individual involved and their family,” a spokesperson said.
“We are cooperating fully with the relevant authorities and conducting our own enquiries. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of everyone on our sites is our utmost priority.”
John Mills, Fife Council’s head of housing said: “We’re aware of the incident at Park View, Kirkcaldy and will assist partners with their enquiries.
“Our thoughts are with the young man directly affected by the incident.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.30am on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, we were made aware of a 16-year-old male having been injured by scaffolding on Park View in Kirkcaldy.
“Emergency services attended and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and the Health and Safety Executive has been made aware.”
