A teenager has died after taking unwell at a school in Edinburgh on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Forrester High School shortly after 3pm on March 14 after a 15-year-old boy experienced a medical emergency.

Police have now confirmed that the teenager has passed away and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, police were made aware a 15-year-old boy had died after collapsing in Broomhouse Road, Edinburgh. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”

A church in the area invited locals to join for “quiet reflection” following the incident.

A post from St David’s Broomhouse Parish Church read: “Following the difficult circumstances earlier today, the church will be open tonight, 2000-2100 (8pm-9pm) for quiet reflection and the opportunity to light a candle. All are welcome.”
