Teenager arrested after caravan set on fire in 'deliberate attack' 

Locals say they heard a 'loud explosion' coming from the area on Monday night.

A teenager has been arrested after an alleged wilful fire attack on a caravan in Fife.

The 18-year-old was charged in connection with the incident that took place on Sea Road, Methil, on Monday night.

The vehicle was targeted at around 8.45pm.

Smoke could be seen for miles and locals said they heard a loud explosion coming from the area.

Police confirmed on Tuesday that the man has since been arrested and charged and a report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers were called to a vehicle on fire on Sea Road, Methil at around 8.45pm on Monday, May 23, 2022.

“It is being treated as wilful and an 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the offence. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal”.
