Two people have been left injured after being attacked in a late night murder bid.
A 19-year-old man and 20-year-old woman were attacked in the Selkirk village of Ashkirk in the Borders on Friday night.
Emergency services attended and both victims were taken to hospital following the incident that took place at around 11.30pm.
Police are now treating the attacks at attempted murder and officers say they are following a positive line of enquiry.
The extent of the victims injuries are not known at this time.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “We are investigating the attempted murder of a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, which took place in the Askhkirk area at around 11.30pm on Friday.
“Officers are currently following positive lines of enquiry.”
