Teenager, 17, airlifted to hospital after being knocked down near primary school 

A teenager has been airlifted to hospital after a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Thursday.

Emergency services were called to Pittsburgh Road, near to Dunfermline’s Carnegie Primary School, following reports of a crash at around 2.30pm on November 21.

A 17-year-old boy was transported to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by air ambulance for treatment. His condition is not known.

Officers re-opened the road at 3.50pm

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.30pm on Thursday, November 21, 2024, we received a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a 17-year-old male on Pittsburgh Road, Dunfermline.

“He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment by air ambulance. The road re-opened at 3.50pm.” 

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 2.24pm today to attend an incident on Pittsburgh Road in Dunfermline.

“We dispatched one ambulance, our trauma team and an air ambulance to the scene. We airlifted one male teenage patient to New Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”
