A teenager has been charged in connection with the attempted murder of a woman in Edinburgh.
A 37-year-old woman was taken to the city’s royal infirmary with serious injuries following an incident on the Union Canal path in the Wester Hailes area at around 8.30pm on Friday, March 13.
Police Scotland confirmed a 17-year-old boy had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday.
A force spokesperson said: “A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in relation to an attempted murder in Edinburgh.
“The 17-year-old is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.”
