A teenage boy has been charged following a series of incidents where items were thrown from a pedestrian flyover in Fife.

Two people were taken to hospital after a taxi heading towards Kinglassie was struck by a slab of concrete dropped onto the B921 in Glenrothes.

After the incident happened at around 12.30am on Sunday, August 6, the man and woman, both 37 years old, were taken to Glenrothes Hospital for treatment. Their current condition is unknown.

There were two previous incidents in which cars were struck by wheelie bins thrown off the flyover.

No one was injured in either incident but both cars were damaged.

The first incident occurred at around 1am on Sunday, July 16, and the second around 3.55am on Wednesday, July 19.

Police in Fife said that a 14-year-old boy had been arrested and charged, and was released on an undertaking to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court at a later date.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
