A teenager has been charged after armed police were called to reports of a firearm in Musselburgh.
Armed police were called to High Street around 3.05pm on Sunday following reports of a person seen in possession of a firearm within a vehicle.
Officers attended, and the firearm was found to be a BB gun.
A 15-year-old male has been charged in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.05pm on Sunday, July 26, police received a report of a male in possession of a firearm in a vehicle on High Street, Musselburgh.
“Specialist firearms officers attended, and the man was subsequently traced, and a BB gun was recovered.
“A 15-year-old male has been charged in connection, and a report will be submitted to the relevant authorities.”
