A woman and a teenager have been arrested after two children suffered injuries and a Yorkshire Terrier died in a dog attack in West Lothian.
The children, aged three and ten, and a mini-Yorkshire Terrier were attacked by a Bulldog in Blackburnhall Gardens, Bathgate, at around 6.20pm on Wednesday.
They suffered minor injuries, and the Yorkshire Terrier died during the incident.
Police confirmed a 40-year-old woman and a 16-year-old male have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
The Bulldog has been seized under the Dangerous Dogs Act as officers continue to investigate.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 40-year-old woman and a 16-year-old male youth have been charged in connection with a dog attack in a park in Bathgate.
“The incident happened around 6.20pm on Wednesday, 5 January, 2022, near Blackburnhall Gardens when two children, aged 10 and 3, sustained minor injuries and a mini Yorkshire terrier died.
“A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
