A teenage boy has been arrested following an alleged serious assault that saw armed police descend on a property in Edinburgh.

Officers attended a property in the early hours of Saturday morning to arrest the 15-year-old following reports of an assault on Lower Granton Road at around 2.25am

The disturbance resulted in a 22-year-old man being taken to hospital. The extent of his injuries is not currently known.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.25am on Saturday, 7 March, 2026, we were called to Lower Granton Road in Edinburgh following a report of a serious assault.

“Emergency services attended and a 22-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Officers, including firearms officers, attended a property nearby and a 15-year-old male was arrested in connection.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
