A teenager has been arrested following a police chase in Edinburgh on Tuesday.
The 15-year-old, who was the driver of the stolen vehicle, fled the scene on Princes Street after a “short pursuit” at 4.00am.
He was later apprehended by officers and charged with road traffic offences.
The road remained closed until 5.40am, while trams and buses diverted from the area.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4am on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, following a short pursuit, police stopped a stolen vehicle in Princes Street, Edinburgh.
“The 15-year-old driver of the vehicle made off but was captured by police and arrested in connection with various road traffic offences. He will be reported to the relevant authorities.
“Princes Street was closed during this incident but reopened at 5.40am.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
