A Stirling social care worker has been struck off after she allegedly called a colleague a “dog” and told another “I am white, you are not my boss“.
Whilst employed as a support worker at Cluaran Care, Stirling, Mary Fraser reportedly shouted at a colleague, slammed the table and called them a “dog” in the presence of a supported person on October 31, 2023.
Whilst leaving the house, Fraser allegedly said to her colleague “dog, go away from me” and “I’m sick and tired of you”.
Between January 19 and May 10, 2024, whilst employed as a support worker by Support for Ordinary Living in
Wishaw, she allegedly told another colleague: “You are black, I am white, no one is ever above me.”
The incident, which also occurred in the presence of a supported person, saw Fraser reportedly grab the colleague’s hands tightly and raised her hands to the colleague’s face in clenched fists.
The support worker also allegedly stated: “You are a black woman. I am white, you are not my boss so
do not tell me what to do.”
The Scottish Social Services say the reported incidents caused distress to each of the workers.
The report read: “The behaviour is serious. You have shown aggressive behaviour towards two colleagues and on one occasion, this verbal abuse was racially aggravated.
“You also physically took hold of a co-worker and shouted in close proximity to their face on this second occasion.”
