A spaniel has died after being attacked by two other dogs in a park in Dunblane.

Officers were alerted to the incident in the Braemar Park area on Monday around 1.40pm.

Police confirmed that two dogs attacked the spaniel which subsequently died following the incident.

The breed of the two dogs has not been confirmed following the attack, however police said enquiries into the incident are “ongoing”.

Stirling Council reported the incident to their Animal Control Team and will liase with Police Scotland during the investigation.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “An investigation is under way following a report of two dogs attacking another dog, a spaniel, in the Braemar Park area of Dunblane on Monday, March 11, 2024.

“The incident was reported to police around 1.40pm. The spaniel dog has subsequently died and enquiries are ongoing.”

A Stirling Council spokesperson said: “We can confirm that this incident was reported to our Animal Control Team.

“Officers have liaised with Police Scotland on the incident with a police-led investigation now under way.”
