Several residents have died at an East Lothian care home following a coronavirus outbreak.
Tranent care home is the third in Scotland to suffer a number of deaths linked to Covid-19.
A spokesperson for HC-One, which runs the home, said it had a comprehensive coronavirus contingency plan in place but would not confirm the number of people who had died.
They said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with those families who have lost a loved one at this exceptionally difficult time, and we are doing what we can to support them.”
It comes just days after a significant number of deaths were reported in other care homes across Scotland.
Earlier this week Castle View Care Home in Dumbarton confirmed eight residents died after showing coronavirus symptoms.
Thirteen residents at Burlington Court in Cranhill, Glasgow, died following a suspected outbreak of coronavirus in the past fortnight.
Two staff members also tested positive for the virus and are receiving treatment at separate hospitals.
The HC-One spokesperson added: “Caring for our residents and supporting our colleagues is at the heart of what we do, and we are doing everything we can to make sure our residents and colleagues stay safe and well throughout these challenging times.
“We have a comprehensive coronavirus contingency plan in place, which was created by our clinical director and reflects the latest government guidance.”
