A seven-year-old boy has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Edinburgh.

Officers were called to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car on Ferry Road in Edinburgh shortly after 6.35pm on Friday

A seven-year-old boy was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People for treatment to serious injuries.

Enquiries are ongoing, and the road remains closed at this time.
