Serial rapist Tyrone McLuckie sexually assaulted and abused women in Leven, Fife

A man has been found guilty of raping, sexually assaulting and abusing women during a campaign of brutality.

Tyrone McLuckie, 23, abused and assaulted three victims in his hometown of Leven, Fife, during which they were subjected to sexual assaults.

The mother of one of the victims, who was a teenager at the time, took photographs of her injuries which were shown to a jury at the High Court in Edinburgh during McLuckie’s trial.

The 42-year-old woman told advocate depute Peter Ferguson KC that she was concerned after speaking to her daughter on a video chat app and saw she had a black eye.

She contacted police and subsequently took photos of injuries on her face, neck, arms and legs. She said her daughter also revealed that McLuckie “forced himself on her”.

McLuckie, a prisoner in Perth, denied a series of charges during his trial but was found guilty of nine crimes on Wednesday. He was convicted of four offences of rape, two of sexual assault and three of abusive behaviour committed between July 2019 and May 2021.

The court heard that one woman said during a rape attack that she kept saying “no” but McLuckie put his hand over her mouth and was pulling her hair during the assault.

During abuse she suffered from McLuckie he grabbed her by the neck and throttled her, restricting her breathing.

He also punched, kicked and pinched her on the body and threatened her with violence and made her carry out sex acts on him.

A second woman was also punched, kicked, throttled and threatened. She was also pushed to the ground and subjected to verbal abuse by McLuckie, who also raped her and made her perform sex acts.

The third victim was aged 17 when she was abused, assaulted and raped by McLuckie. He punched, kicked and bit her on the body, pulled her hair and spat on her.

She also had objects thrown at her and her neck was squeezed by McLuckie who subjected her to rapes.

McLuckie told the court that he had met his first victim through Facebook, but maintained that he never hit her.

He said: “We had arguments, but no threats or violence.”

He said all sexual activity with her was consensual.

Judge Alison Stirling deferred sentence on McLuckie until next month for the preparation of a background report.
