Witness urged to come forward after woman sexually assaulted on train

Officers are searching for a woman travelling with a child who they believe may have witnessed the incident.

Officers are urging a rail passenger travelling with a young child to come forward after a woman was sexually assaulted by a man on an Edinburgh train.

The incident occurred on Saturday, July 29, 2023, on the 8.03pm service between Waverley Station and Falkirk Grahamston.

British Transport Police (BTP) said the man sat next to the woman before carrying out the assault.

BTP said the man is described as white, in his early 30s, with dark short spiky hair, and a short shaved beard.

He was wearing a black T-shirt, a grey Adidas hoodie and blue denim jeans with brown boots.

BTP have urged a woman who was travelling with a young child on the same train to come forward, as they believe she may have witnessed the incident.
