A major search is underway for an 84-year-old man with Alzheimer’s who has been missing overnight in Edinburgh.
Walter Anderson was last seen on the city’s Clovenstone Drive at around 11pm on Thursday.
He has not been in contact with any friends or family since and concern is growing for his welfare.
Mr Anderson is described as being around 5ft10, with a medium build and brown hair which is partially balding.
He also wears glasses and when last seen had a short navy blue jacket on.
Police say he is known to frequent the west side of Edinburgh and may appear confused or lost.
Inspector Claire Masterton, of Edinburgh Drylaw Station, said: “Walter has Alzheimer’s so he may appear confused or lost.
“We are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare and are keen to find him as soon as possible.
“I would urge anyone who may have seen Walter to contact us as soon as possible.”
