A Scots radio presenter is recovering after suffering a “sizeable” bleed on her brain caused by two aneurysms.

Lynne Hoggan, from Falkirk, who presents across Clyde 1, Forth 1, Tay FM and NorthSound, was taken to hospital for surgery.

The presenter, according to her sister-in-law Rachel, suffered a “sizeable bleed on the brain”.

She underwent surgery to put stents in her brain and is said to be “recovering in the best care possible”.

Bauer Media, which owns a number of the stations Hoggan presents on, said she is a “much-loved” part of its team and wished her a speedy recovery.

Her sister-in law-Rachel posted on social media: “I appreciate that a lot of you have been messaging Lynne and wondering where she has been lately.

“Unfortunately, a week ago she took unwell and it turned out to be a sizeable bleed on the brain which was two aneurisms.

“She has now had surgery and stents put in her brain and is recovering in the best care possible.”

The post continued: “Lynne still has a long way to go and will be in hospital for a while and is unable to communicate properly at the moment whilst she is recovering.

“She appreciates all the love and support and will be in touch with all the individuals that have reached out to her once she is better.

“If anyone needs anything or wants me to pass anything onto Lynne, please just get in touch!”

A Bauer Media spokesperson said: “Lynne’s such a respected and much-loved part of our team, and we’ve really missed her over the past week.

“We’re all wishing her a smooth and speedy recovery, and we can’t wait to hear her back on air when she’s ready.”
