A shop worker has been taken to hospital after a robbery at a convenience store in Edinburgh.
Police were called to a Scotmid store on Gorgie Road at around 7.15pm on Sunday after receiving reports of a robbery.
A woman was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment following the incident.
Her current condition is unknown as officers continue to carry out enquiries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 7.15pm on Sunday, December 11, 2022, officers were called to a report of a robbery at a shop in Gorgie Road, Edinburgh.
“One woman was injured as a result of the incident and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
“Officers are currently carrying out extensive enquiries.”
A Scotmid spokesperson said: “All staff were shaken by the events that took place on Sunday and we are supporting them with the help of Retail Trust and Victim Support Scotland.
“We are working with Police Scotland as they investigate the incident.”
