Police are searching for a van driver after a number of vehicles were stolen within hours of each other in the Stirling area.

A plant trailer was stolen from a premises on Springbank Road around 11pm on Sunday, March 15, before a dumper truck was taken from the Forthside Drive area around 30 minutes later. It has now been recovered.

Two road rollers were stolen from a roadworks site, also on Forthside Drive, around an hour later at 12.40am.

A white high-top Transit van, which was towing a trailer, was seen in the area at the time of the thefts.

Police believe the thefts to be linked and have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Keith Drummond said: “We believe these thefts to be linked and are keen to speak to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity or seen a white Transit van around the time of the incidents.

“I would also ask any drivers with dash-cam footage who were travelling in the area to review it and contact us if it may have captured anything that could assist our enquiries.”
