The Edinburgh Bypass has been closed to traffic after emergency services were called to a vehicle on fire.
The incident took place on the A720 at Sherifhall Roundabout on Wednesday morning.
The road has been closed westbound from the roundabout as a result leading to long queues of traffic building up.
Police Scotland urged drivers to find an alternative route while recovery takes place.
Traffic Scotland warned drivers to expect a 20 minute delay westbound and a ten minute delay eastbound in the area.
Emergency services remain at the scene and drivers are advised to avoid the area.
