Residents have been urged to keep windows closed after a fire has broken out in West Lothian.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the blaze on Main Street, Blackridge, at around 5.40pm on Thursday.

Police closed Main Street in Blackridge, West Lothian, and said it is likely to remain closed “for some time”.

Residents have been urged to keep their windows closed and the public has been told to avoid the area.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Emergency services are in attendance at Main Street, Blackridge in West Lothian after a report of fire at a premises at 5.40pm on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

“Main Street is closed and is likely to remain closed for some time.

“Residents are asked to keep their windows closed and people should avoid the area if possible.”

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
