Residents 'shocked' as bus crashes into houses

Emergency services were called to Main Street in Airth around 5.35pm on Monday.

A bus full of passengers has left the road and crashed into terraced houses in Falkirk.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Main Street, Airth at around 5.35pm on Monday.

Scottish Fire and Rescue services confirmed emergency responders were able to get passengers off the coach safely.

Crew members were able to stabilise the vehicle, and remain on site to ensure the building is safe.

Councillor Laura Murtagh said that she, and other residents, were “shocked” at the incident.

She thanked emergency services for their fast response to the incident, saying: “For now, everyone in the village is grateful for the swift response of emergency services and continue to hope that any injuries have not been serious.”

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
