A rescue operation at a top beauty spot was held up due to “inconsiderate” motorists parking in emergency lay-bys.
Emergency services were called to the Devil’s Pulpit within Finnich Glen in Stirlingshire at around 1pm on Monday after a member of the public was injured in a fall.
Police said emergency vehicles responding to the incident were hampered by “inconsiderate parking” and cars parked in the emergency spaces.
Lomond Mountain Rescue Team was eventually able to reach the casualty, who had suffered an arm injury.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “If you are attending rural areas, please consider where you are parking your vehicle.
“Access roads/gates and emergency vehicle lay-bys are there in the event of an emergency and should not be used for parking.”
It is estimated around 70,000 people a year visit the glen.
The gorge, which has appeared in popular TV series Outlander, was closed earlier this year due to dangerous parking and complaints of rubbish being left in the area.
Earlier this month, Stirling Council approved £2.7m plans for a car park and visitor centre in the glen.
A path network as well as new bridges will also be built to make it easier to explore the site more safely.
