Part of the Queensferry Crossing has been closed to traffic following a multi-car collision.

Southbound vehicles on the flagship bridge over the Firth of Forth have been cautioned to pass the incident on lane two of the route with care after the incident on Friday morning.

Several of the cars involved have been moved onto the hard shoulder but are yet to be recovered following the collision at around 9.50.

Traffic Scotland said part of the bridge – which makes up a section of the M90 between Edinburgh and Fife – remains open, but vehicles were moving slowly.

Delays of up to 40 minutes are currently expected, they added.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.45 am on Friday, July 14 we received a report of a three vehicle crash on the Queensferry Crossing.”
